C2 Japan Privacy Notice
Effective Date: June 19, 2024
This notice is for residents of Japan and is provided in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“APPI”).
It supplements the information contained in our general Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the Japan.
1. Definitions
Under the APPI the following definitions apply to this Privacy Notice:
- "Personal Information" refers to any information about an individual which can identify the individual, including but not limited to name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, and other descriptions that can identify the individual. It also includes information that can be easily matched with other information to identify an individual.
- "Personal Information Controller (PIC)" refers to a business operator that uses a Personal Information Database for business operations. Also sometimes known as “business operator handling personal information”.
- "Sensitive Personal Information" includes Personal Information relating to matters such as race, creed, religion, physical or mental disabilities, medical records, medical and pharmacological treatment, arrest, detention, or criminal proceedings (whether as an adult or a juvenile), or criminal victimization. Also sometimes known as “personal information requiring consideration”.
2. Collection and Use of Personal Information
We collect and use Personal Information for the following purposes:
- To provide and manage our Services
- To communicate with you, including sending notices and responding to inquiries
- To personalize and improve our Services
- To conduct marketing and promotional activities
- To comply with legal and regulatory requirements
3. Legal Basis for Processing

6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your Personal Information. These measures include:
- Encryption of data during transmission and storage

- Access controls to restrict unauthorized access to personal data
7. Data Transfers
If we transfer your Personal Information outside of Japan, we ensure that the recipient country has an adequate level of data protection as recognized by APPI or

Your Personal Information is not subject to automated decision-making processes that have a significant impact on you.
16. Updates to This Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify
you of any significant changes by posting the updated notice on this page and updating the effective date or by other appropriate means.
